T and Al came over to watch Vampire’s Kiss. It was truly memorable.
Afterwards we had a late supper at Mojave. It was really good and I think I might have found my new date spot. Afterwards we hit the city and checked out Boucarou Lounge It was B&T but still a nice place.
Its been a while since the fellas and I have met for beer and wings at Red Sky. So I was happy when Pab and Al invited me to have a little catch up. A few beers and a lot of laughs ignited a fire inside me that seemed to have dwindled.
Somehow in all the dating and confusion of work I had forgotten about the summer. Last summer was rough considering I was dealing with my separation and divorce but I still managed to have fun with booze, women and crazy experiences. I promised myself this summer would be better and somehow Pab and Al reminded (since I had clearly forgotten) me that in a few weeks the real fun begins.
Today was the day I’d been dreading for a while. I had to go and pick up my damaged dresser from storage and I was worried that George and I wouldn’t be able to get it done. Actually, that’s not true, I was just upset with having to rent a van, deal with the storage people and having to lift this stupidly heavy piece of furniture. Luckily George and I were joking around so much, since he had been in the Dominican Republic for a week, that I didn’t even notice any of it.
Once we got the dresser home and returned the van George helped me remove the television from the wall and repair the gaping hole left behind by the Geek Squad a few weeks ago. As a reward for all his hard work I took him to get his nails done. I think he totally had a blast. How could you not enjoy a gorgeous woman pampering you?
On our way back home I got a call from T, who I haven’t seen for a while. I invited her to dinner with Al and Jina. Yup Jina! She called earlier that day and asked what I was up too. I figured this would be a great opportunity to have her meet Al and T and get their impressions. I was a bit worried it would turn into a total cluster fuck but it turned out to be a great dinner at Tre.
After that we hit Jessica’s birthday party which turned out to be interesting. People need to learn that drinking doesn't grant you the magical ability to say whatever pops into your head. On the bright side Angela showed up and met my amigos.
Afterward she took me to a secret after hour Chinatown restaurant that is located down a staircase in the middle of nowhere. It seems all the asian club kids hit this spot at four in the morning.
The highlight of the night was making out with her on the relatively empty streets of Chinatown. The whole time keeping one eye on the triads across the street shooting me the shit look. How exhilarating
Woke up feeling a little better but was still feeling sick. I wanted to bang out but I had a ton of work waiting for me at the office.
Now I’ll be the first admit I have my slacker tendencies but every once in a while I get a in this zone where I can’t stop. I got put on a new project and felt some pressure to perform. Especially since I just got a promotion and I figured I needed to step up my game. And step it up I did. I worked till ten in the evening and created a stellar piece of work.
Afterwards I met up with Al for dinner at the Neptune Diner. He wasn’t looking to good and must have gotten the bug. Sadly he looked a lot worse than I did.
After work I decided to head home and just relax before heading out with Al. It had been a long week and we needed to catch up. Instead of going all the way into the city we decided to meet up at Rapture for a few brews.
Cheap drinks, cute girls and short commute are things I can defiantly get used to.
I didn’t really do anything with my morning, which was defiantly welcomed considering I’d been out late all week.
In the evening I met up with Al and T for dinner at Gobo. I wanted to eat relatively healthy and had a craving for their stuffed red pepper. When we arrived the wait was an hour long but my charm and luck got us seated right away. I realized immediately they were not serving the stuffed pepper since it’s seasonal. So, instead I opted for the scallion pancakes, fried spinach dumplings (so much for healthy) and butternut squash risotto.
Afterwards T took us to Voldenuit for drinks. The place had a really strong Eastern European / vampire coven vibe. I was expecting a sexy vampire girl to slide out from the shadows, seduce me and leave me in some alley drained of all my blood. After having hot vampire sex of course
.
Considering we were in the neighborhood I decide to show Al and T Blue Ribbon Bar. After a cocktail and some interesting conversation about dreams and the metaphysical (typical drunk conversation) we tried to catch a cab to Vig Bar. That proved impossible so we opted to walk across town in the cold. It was like living in Russia minus the babushkas.
T took off and Pab showed up shortly thereafter. We ended the night at Big Daddy’s Diner were I got shot down by this girl that looked like Tera Patrick, heartbreak. Next time I’ll sweep the leg so she can’t get away.
Nights like the one I just experienced don't come along often but when they do you have to be ready to go with the flow and squeeze every drop of fun out of them.
6:30 pm
It started out like your typical happy hour; good friends, good location (Black Bear Lodge) and a bucket of PBR.
8:30 pm
Six PBR’s later and I was making out with someone that I’ve wanted for two years. I’m not sure how it happened but the planets aligned.
I know that sounds fucked up considering I was married not so long ago but wanting and acting are two different things.
8:45 pm
A long goodbye
9:15 pm
I met up with Al and we decided to check out Forum and within seconds of making eye contact with the most gorgeous girl in the bar (the place was wall to wall gorgeous women) I was making out with her.
12:00 am
We decided to hit Vig Bar for one more drink and again lightning struck. A nurse sitting outside began to flirt with me.
1:00 am
Al leaves
2:00 am
Things get interesting.
5:00 am
I’m home. Thanks George.
I’m still stunned someone complimented me on my blog yesterday. Maybe I’m not such a bad writer after all. I know I still have a ways to go but this is a sign of improvement and a great motivator.
It actually motivated me to write a little funny invite for happy hour that some people got a kick out of.
Top 5 Reasons You Should Go
5) It’s cold outside and booze will keep you nice and warm on the walk home
4) You can make new friends
3) Know everyone already? Strengthen those bonds of friendship.
2) You hate people in general but especially those you work with? Come drown your sorrows.
1) You need your alcohol fix.
Not the funniest thing in the world but cute.
Went to Gallery Bar with T and Al and had a strange time. I love their company and the photo booth in the back is worth the trip. But where it took a turn for the worse was when I attempted to pick up this hot girl.
She was with two other friends, which would immediately discourage most men. Luckily I’m confident and no stranger to picking up a 3 set.
Thirty minutes later and a shit load of small talk got me a cute girl with lots of style but I wanted the hot one. I cut my losses and went back to T and Al.
Sadly all the confidence and experience in the world isn’t going to help you once a group of girls divie you up. I wonder how many missed opportunities at love have occurred when girls and even guys do this stupid shit. I think it should all be organic not like some fucked up election.
I can’t shake this bummed out feeling. She was really hot.
PS For the record they were all single and the hot one did like me.
Went to Hooters with Pab, Al and Paul so they could sing him Happy Birthday. We then headed to a club called Spotlight for Dennis’ birthday. The place was nice but the crowd was all tourists and ghetto people. Not really my scene. T showed up and we left after 2 hours of just sitting around and doing nothing. It was very unorganized. I felt bad for Dennis.
We went to Vig Bar and I saw this hot Asian girl with pink heels. I'm not sure why but I really love long legs and high heels. I ran up to her when she was trying to catch a cab and felt good after our conversation. It was a great exchange cause I was sharp and witty. I had forgotten how quick I can be when I'm not drinking. I doubt she will call but I tried my best. The ball is in her court.
I also picked up this other girl that is a regular at Vig. She is asian, of course, and we had some tension. Not the sexual sort but an odd tension that is hard to describe. She was smoking with two other friends outside when she leaned over and calls me Patrick. I knew from that point on she was attracted and was just trying to get my attention.
I ran into them again later in the night and had a great conversation. Lets see how this plays out.
