I had my first Thai iced tea at lunch with Angela. She was kind enough to come all the way into the city for our “lunch date” at Rungsit.
I had promised Wilma, last week, I would go and support her friend, who was having a showing at Gallery Bar. Stupidly I forgot all about it and made plans with Chika to see Be Kind Rewind. Feeling the noose tighten and dreading the idea of bailing on Wilma I convinced Chika into having a drink before going to the movies. I figured I could make everyone happy and support the arts.
After a quick drink Chika and I hit the theater. I found the film cute but defiantly lacking in the plot department. It felt like an excuse to do all these amazing old school camera tricks. I guess it wouldn’t be a Michael Gondry film without them.

I was excited at the prospect of getting home at a reasonable hour. I’m not sure what came over me but as soon as I walked thru the door I changed into my running gear and went out. Unlike Sunday I managed to run 2 miles in a little under 20 minutes.
I spent the rest of the night watching bad reality television.

Earlier in the week I invited Nice to see The Spiderwick Chronicles with me on Sunday. Sure I had my doubts about the movie being any good but it turned out I was totally wrong. The movie was really entertaining.
Afterward, I figured Nice would take off and I would run a few errands alone. But to my surprise she had nothing planned and was kind enough to tag along. What was suppose to be an afternoon movie turned into a dinner at Boqueria and a long talk at Starbucks. I didn’t get home till midnight.
A Few Words About Nice
I think I’m starting to like her and not just cause she’s cute. It’s her sweet personality. Sadly, she’s had a string of bad luck with guys and seems really lost. I think she just needs time and a good friend.
Went out for my first run in Astoria and realized quickly I’m totally out of shape. I puttered around the house and watched “The Brave One” with Jodi Foster for the rest of the day. Nice called in the evening and invited my friends and I to Vesta. The promise of free admission and booze all night was too good to pass up.
Upon dropping her name we were escorted inside and greeted with a warm smile and a stiff drink. I picked up a girl at the bar that didn’t even speak English. I sometimes marvel at what a simple smile and charm can get you.
We ended the night at a diner on 34th where I ran into Pegi. Talk about random.
After work I decided to head home and just relax before heading out with Al. It had been a long week and we needed to catch up. Instead of going all the way into the city we decided to meet up at Rapture for a few brews.
Cheap drinks, cute girls and short commute are things I can defiantly get used to.
Angela and I went to Nomad (African restaurant) on our second date. She was running late but it allowed me to take in the restaurant. I really loved the vibe of the place but the food sucked.
Afterwards we went to Vig for a drink and a chance to get to know each other a little better.

Met up with Jina at the movie theater. We saw the Bank Job with Jason Statham. I thought it was your typical bank heist film, which is a good thing.
I am glad I gave Jina the benefit of the doubt and asked her to be my movie pal. She seems to be a good person deep down.
Got off of work and went directly home to finally enjoy the true power and beauty of my new Sony Bravia. Is it possible for a piece of technology to understand me so well? It doesn’t argue with me it just does what I tell it to do.
Maybe I just have a soft spot for bright shiny things?
As I sat at the bar I kept thinking she was going to stand me up. I picked her up on Valentine’s Day but every time we tried to meet for dinner or drinks something got in the way.
When she walked in the door I felt a little odd. Here was this person I met a month ago that I didn’t know anything about. My heart started to race but I couldn’t tell if it was nerves or the simple fact she was gorgeous. I’m thinking it was a little of both.
A fantastic meal and a pitcher of sangria later we were staring into each other’s eyes as she stroked my hand affectionately. She leaned in and we kissed for a while before I put her in a cab. It was uber romantic and sexy.
I hit Vig for a Saint Patrick’s Day Guinness before heading home.
We decided to hit Queens Center Mall so I could replace my defective cable box and pick up an HDMI cable for my PS3.
While on the train I called Amy to try and smooth over last night. She caught attitude and got her self “taken off the list.” Al told me not to sweat it considering she wasn’t what I usually date.
Lastly, Nice took me to Max Brenner. It’s been a while since I’ve been invited to dinner.
Note: I finally got my 360 back and it only took a month. Fucking dicks!
