If you were to combine my love for anime, video games and dressing up you would end up with a blog post exploring the crazy, silly and awesome world of cosplay.
What is Cosplay?
Short for “costume play”, it’s a type of performance art in which participants don costumes and accessories to represent a specific character from manga, anime, tokusatsu, comic books, graphic novels, video games, hentai and fantasy movies.
Here are some of my favorites

What are some of your favorites?
Spent the afternoon shopping when I came across a pair of sunglasses I couldn’t resist. The Oliver Peoples Strummer is a classic aviator design crafted with lightweight, hypo-allergenic titanium.

Filled with joy and a tinge of sadness over the loss of my favorite Blinde shades I began searching for the discontinued Lickety Lips in black. Miraculously I found a pair on eBay. All is right in the world.

Santa was so good to me this year. He got me everything I wanted including: Terminator 2 Skynet Edition on Blu-ray, God of War Collection for the PS3 and the most amazing laptop bag from Cole Haan.
Six beers and a mad dash to Theresa’s charity event cost me my favorite shades. This is the third and final time I’ve lost them. I guess it’s a sign I should invest in cheaper shades. Perhaps a different look?
I wanted to post signs all around the city offering a reward for the successful return of my shades. Sadly you are only allowed to do that when you lose a puppy. What if the puppy was wearing the shades???

While doing a little research for work I came across this tiny fashion blog, The Sartorialist. The images / fashion captured by blogger Scott Schuman are striking. This might be my new favorite blog.
PS I am in love with this model. If anyone knows of her last whereabouts please don’t hesitate contacting me.

Twice a year Pab invites us to these amazing magazine release parties. Held at swank venues and filled with gorgeous / interesting people these parties have become a highlight in our collective social calendar. Tonight NYM celebrated the release of its Spring 2009 issue at Pranna. Cover girl Carla Gugino even made an appearance but I never saw her cause I was to busy making friends.

Seven identical dresses, one for each day of the week. Every day reinvented with layers, accessories and all kinds of accouterments, the majority of which will be vintage, hand-made, or hand-me-down goodies. Think of it as a daily uniform with enough creative license to make it look like I just crawled out of the Marquis de Sade’s boudoir.
I came across this site the other day and found the concept really interesting. Check it out.
