Saw this the other day while goofing off at work and thought it was pure genius. Call me crazy but I wouldn’t be surprised if this is what living in a studio apartment in NYC might look like in the future. Very Fifth Element. Leeloo Dallas multipass!

American Ballet Theatre

April 25, 2010 Art Comments

I hadn’t been to the ballet in over fifteen years and forgot how wonderfully spectacular an experience it can be. Perhaps it’s my new found appreciation for the human form or just the splendor that is dance but watching the dancers bound across the stage was inspiring.

I’ve included a video below of the show we saw but I don’t think it does a very good job of capturing how special an evening it was. I guess something is better than nothing?

Cosplay

If you were to combine my love for anime, video games and dressing up you would end up with a blog post exploring the crazy, silly and awesome world of cosplay.

What is Cosplay?
Short for “costume play”, it’s a type of performance art in which participants don costumes and accessories to represent a specific character from manga, anime, tokusatsu, comic books, graphic novels, video games, hentai and fantasy movies.

It seems creator Kenichi Tanaka has taken down the video. I suspect it was partly due to all the negative and unwarranted feedback he received. Sad I could no longer share it with you guys I did a little digging and found a copy. Not sure how long it would remain online, I decided to screen grab it and post a copy on my server. Enjoy.

EMO-tional Valentine’s Day

February 14, 2010 Art, Dating Comments

Bored to death by the prospect of doing the usual chocolates, flowers and fancy dinner. We decided to inject a little Halloween into the commercial holiday travesty known as Valentine’s Day. Our plan:

  1. Dress up in our best EMO outfits.
  2. Take in the Tim Burton Exhibit.
  3. Enjoy the best NYC Mille Crepe at Lady M.

Dust of Snow

February 7, 2010 Art Comments

The way a crow
Shook down on me
The dust of snow
From a hemlock tree

Has given my heart
A change of mood
And saved some part
Of a day I had rued.

It may be five months late and a rough cut but here is my first vlog. Cut together from video I snagged on my walk home.
