Road to Perdition

February 22, 2010 Movies

Based on a graphic novel of the same name, Road to Perdition is loosely based on the Japanese manga series Lone Wolf and Cub. Sam Mendes having recently finished American Beauty, pursued a story that had minimal dialogue and conveyed emotion in the imagery. Prime examples of this are the introduction of Jude Law’s character and the violent yet tender final scene between Paul Newman and Tom Hanks. I should also point out the amazing cinematograpghy by Conrad L. Hall who went on to win the Academy Award for Best Cinematography.

Why did it take me so long to watch this?

Why did it take you so long to see this film, because you don’t value my film taste. This movie is amazing. A departure for Tom Hanks who always plays the good guy.
