I’m struggling how to express how I feel about this. On one hand I believe the animation and subject matter are amazing and warrant all the critical acclaim its received. But at the same time, in my opinion, making this an animated feature was a huge mistake. For a film that is dialog centric, animation detracts from the film and hinders the audience from truly experiencing the emotional and psychological effect the massacre has on its main characters. Shot like a normal film this movie might have reached a greater audience and achieved even greater critical acclaim.
