Good Bye San Francisco

I felt a tinge of saddness at the airport when I hugged Mihoko goodbye. I had a great time and half way throught the flight I already began to miss her company.

San Francisco – Day 5

I was hoping to get a picture of the Golden Gate Bridge before leaving but the San Francisco weather / cloud cover made that impossible.  I was a bit bummed till Mihoko drove me across the bridge to Sausalito, it was beautiful.

San Francisco – Day 4

Mihoko had dance class in the afternoon so I decided to go and explore downtown and the financial district.

Around six I stopped by the studio and got the chance to see them rehearse. It was really amazing to watch thirty plus people moving as one. The best part was being the stranger from NYC, watching from the shadows. I suspect they could only see my silhouette and whites shades. Now that is cool.

San Francisco – Day 3

Pab mentioned having the best mac & cheese at this spot called Ella’s when he visited San Francisco last year. Being the foodie that I am I jumped at the opportunity to go and try it. Sadly mac and cheese was not on the brunch menu. Regardless the food was great.

A long walk around the Presidio and Castro Street wiped me out so we decided to catch Pineapple Express.

Pineapple Express
I laughed out loud about ten times which is pretty good considering the current state of comedy movies.  Bonus: James Franco was actually good.

Afterward we had dinner and went home to watch Californicarion. This show is amazing and deserves it’s own post.

San Francisco – Day 2

I made a common San Francisco tourist mistake by not booking tickets to Alcatraz in advance. So my plan of reenacting scenes from “Escape from Alcatraz” and ” The Rock” were dashed.

Instead of getting upset I concentrated on the days other attractions which included Fisherman’s Wharf, seal/sea lion watching, a trolley ride and a tour of Chinatown.

In the evening Mihoko took me to this sick nightspot called Bubble Lounge.

Virgin America is the best airline.  The entertainment system is sick.

Pack It Up

Step 1: Create a list of every outfit you will wear in San Francisco

Step 2: Find matching socks and underwear for each outfit.

Step 3: Carefully fold and place in my luggage.

Step 4: Seek help!

Vertigo

Went to Vertigo for happy hour and hit on the hostess which was a bad idea.  I have a strict policy to never hit on the help but i couldn’t help myself.  She had a great smile and I had a lot of “stupid juice” pumping through my veins.  Long story short, she had a boyfriend.

Note: I’ve been getting turned down alot lately and it is starting to concern me.

Apple

A few weeks ago I had a date with Apple, this little Vietnamese knockout I met online. She had a radiant smile and a body built for sin but I sensed something was wrong.  From the minute we locked eyes I knew she didn’t want to be on this date.  Was I that ugly?

Thirty minutes later and a tummy full of Don’s Bogam (Korean BBQ) I found out her boyfriend of two years cheated on her and this was her first date since the breakup.  As I listened to her story frustration and sadness filled my heart.  Here I was on a date with a gorgeous woman that I wanted but had no shot.  No one did.

The worst part is this isn’t the first time this has happened.  In fact its been a recurring theme with match.com.  In the past 6 months that I’ve been using the service I’ve observed that most women use the site as a testing ground for getting back into the dating scene.  The only problem is most women on it aren’t ready to date.

Shop Till You Drop

I walked the around the city for hours searching for the perfect pair of sneakers.  Now I must admit I’m a Nike whore but when we walked into the Adidas store it was love at first sight.  Sadly they were sold out and I was forced to scramble and purchase the last pair online, via iPhone.

They should be waiting for me at the office when I get back from San Francisco.
