How did I forget it was Cinco de Mayo? After work a few of us headed over to Rodeo Bar for margaritas. I had a great time.
Once the party died down I headed home to meet D but she was a no show. Was I getting stood up again? Trying to avoid wasting Cinco de Mayo I called Mayling to see if she wanted to get a drink. Luckily she was interested.
While walking to meet her I ran into D which totally caught me by surprise. Do I ditch Mayling, a girl that’s already stood me up or do I ditch D? I looked at my watch and just couldn’t forgive her for being and hour late. Sorry.
Things That Go Bump In the Night
I met Mayling at Vig and only fifteen minutes into our conversation she mentioned doing a “bump” right before we met. For those of you not up on your drug slang that means she just did a line of coke. I’ve had friends that do drugs and I’m not one to judge but I don’t like to be around that. Growing up in the South Bronx surrounded by drugs has taught me that nothing good can come of it.
Not wanting to be rude I kept talking to her trying to find something, anything that would keep me from cutting her. Sadly stories about her divorce, ex boyfriend and the tattoo of his name on her arm sealed the deal.
