my design philosophy

As a designer I strive to strike a balance between beauty and functionality. Good design is engaging and aesthetically pleasing but great design goes deeper by combining form and function.

Clear messaging, clean design and usability above all else are the cornerstones to my philosophy.

As I recall, writing about myself was much easier in the first grade. My unconditional love for the color blue, Transformers and Captain Crunch with crunch berries was enough to garner a gold star. Several years later my love for these things continues but is no longer indicative of who I am.

I was born and raised in the South Bronx (the really bad part) by the most incredible self sacrificing parents anyone could hope to ever have. Twelve years of parochial school later I was confronted with the choice of attending Columbia or New York University. Luckily, the prospect of paying off loans for the next several decades didn’t appeal to me. And I decided to attend New York University where I discovered a love for film, art and media ecology.
